Our Cultural Expanse: Women in the Navy, 1941-1945

We continue our Women’s Month focus this week with most important milestone in modern military history, World War II. During WWII, Congress allowed women to serve in the Navy in a variety of support roles under the Women Accepted for Voluntary Emergency Service (WAVES) program with more than 85,000 women stepping up to serve.
