Our Cultural Expanse: Asian & Pacific Islanders, 1946-1964

In the 1950s, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders took advantage of expanded opportunities for advancement notably after President Truman’s Executive Order 9981 desegregated the military forces. They served all throughout the Pacific including Japan, Guam and Hawaii in support of Cold War operations.Panel3
